GETTING READY FOR
A-LEVEL
Many of the ideas you will be studying at A-level are quite
abstract and somewhat removed from the more practical topics learnt during your
GCSE years. Before you start your A-level course you will need to be competent
and confident in the more specialised topics you learnt at GCSE. Many teachers recommend that you practice
several key skills studied at GCSE including transformations, trigonometry,
geometry, factorisation, vectors and in some cases basic calculus.
We can help you to revise the more important areas in
preparation for, or to give you a head-start in, your first term at A-level.
We can also offer pupils a short introduction to A-level during
their GCSE years to help them to choose their sixth form subject options
or indeed to assess whether they feel sufficiently competent and confident to
take Mathematics as an A-level option.
